((Sorry I took 5 years to actually reply to this! I hope it is ok and not overstepping any of your rules? Maybe some unrequited feelings from Uncle that you can do with however you please~))

╾ Thorin had not really seen it before. The small little fluttering
feeling he got in his gut around Fili, the way his heart picked up it’s
pace, the way his palms grew sweaty. He tried ignoring it at first
and the dwarf thought it had been working, but it soon became
clear that it was not. Thorin was seeing the boy in a new light that
an Uncle should never look at his nephew in such a way.

╾ It made the King feel disgusted with himself for ever letting
these feelings fester and grow within him. He knew that he could
never share this with anyone, not even Fili himself for fear of
destroying the bond he has with the prince. Thorin did his best to
lock these feelings away and kept a certain distance from the
other that would not look suspicious to anyone else. Not even the
source of the older dwarf’s hidden desires…

Fili had taken notice that his Uncle had been acting strange around him. The way he looked like he wanted to say someone, but always changed the subject with Fili asked him what was wrong.
Maybe Thorin had noticed the way Fili looked at him. It was certainly not the way a nephew should look at an Uncle. His mother would kill him if she found out that the dwarrow prince looked at his Uncle as more of a lover than an Uncle. She would undoubtedly kill him if she knew the thoughts that ran through Fili’s head when Thorin was near. Fili was afraid that his love for the elder Dwarf was so obvious, it might as well be engraved on his forehead.
It wasn’t until one afternoon, Fili decided to confront Thorin, hoping that if he found out what was bother him, his worries would be put to peace quickly. Maybe Fili said something that offended Thorin, or Thorin was stressed about something. Whatever the problem was, Fili hoped that his uncle did not know about Fili’s romantic love for him.
